Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One follows the release of the movie. This is an action game, unlike the previous platforming adventure titles.
With an over-the-shoulder third person view, like Resident Evil, you'll use Harry's wand as your weapon in combat against Voldemort's army. The graphics are passable at best, though the cinematic soundtrack is well done. This is a very linear adventure, and unfortunately doesn't offer enough variety in its missions to stay interesting.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows suffers not only from repetitive gameplay, but also awkward controls. The cover system is unreliable, and the camera angle sometimes makes it very difficult to avoid enemies.
The combat focus of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One may be more grown up, like the book, but it's surprisingly dull and feels cheap.
